C247 Mobile Application
The C247 mobile application is available in both iOS and Google Play App Stores. It is listed as being developed by either OpusApeiro, C247 Services Ltd, or Continuum247 Ltd. OpusApeiro has formally traded as C247 Services Ltd and Continuum247 Ltd.
Our application requires permissions to access the following capabilities, for the supplied reasons:
Notifications
This allows push notifications to reach your phone. Push notifications are the fastest and most reliable way for your employer to reach out to you with bulletins and shift details. By declining push notifications, messages get routed to you via text message which is slower and less reliable.
Location
Location is used to determine where you are when booking on/off and keeps track of you at work for your own safety whilst on shift. Location is never accessed when you are booked off or logged out of the app.
Camera
Camera has multiple purposes within the app. When updating your details the camera can be used to take photos of documents you need to upload. Furthermore, if you are submitting an incident you may add photos, the app needs camera access to do so. Finally, some shifts require you to take a “Book On Selfie” for which the app needs camera access.
Microphone / Audio Recording
Audio recording is used when dictating occurrence details, providing an alternative mechanic to form entry.
Storage
Storage is used to select photographs from your gallery. This is used in functionality to allow attaching photographs to incidents and occurrences.
NFC
NFC is used to support tagging functionality for clients that utilise this capability in their patroling.
The app does not use permissions for anything other than what is outlined above and as you can see they are all to facilitate your job and safety. The app only gathers one type of data in the background as outlined above which is location. All Android devices and iOS devices updated to iOS 13 notify you that apps are running in the background as required by their market places.
